A TEENAGER was subjected to a terrifying 15 minute sexual assault as she walked home from a night out with friends.

The 18-year-old woman from Dagenham had been out in Romford last Friday night and was going home on foot between midnight and 1am on Saturday (November 17).

As she reached the junction of Rush Green Road and Dagenham Road she noticed a man loitering.

She walked past him but he grabbed her around the throat, pulled her to the ground, and dragged her by the feet into an alleyway off Birkbeck Road.

She was then subjected to what detectives describe as a “prolonged and serious sexual assault” which lasted for between 10 and 15 minutes.

During the struggle the victim’s shoes came off but they have not been found.

Also missing, possibly removed by the attacker, are a black elasticated hair band and a wrist bracelet with distinctive metal stars.

The shoes are brown with pointed toes, a four inch high heel, and a punched hole design on the front.

The attacker is black, aged in his 20s, with a bald or shaved head and a “very round face”.

He was wearing black Nike trainers, a black collared shirt tucked into the front of blue jeans, and had a silver chain around his neck.

Detective Constable Rolf Schamberger said: “This was a particularly prolonged and nasty attack on a young woman.

“We are appealing for anyone in the area to come forward to me at Romford CID with any information they may have on (01708) 779 261 or Crimestoppers anonymously on (0800) 555111.
