AN 18-YEAR-OLD woman was subjected to a serious sexual assault as she walked through Foleshill on Christmas Day.
The attack happened in Foleshill Road at around 8.30pm when she was approached by a man standing at a bus stop near The Wheatsheaf pub.
The man walked with her to the junction with Elmsdale Avenue, behind a red Ford Escort van that was parked on a shop frontage, where he subjected her to the attack.
The woman was not injured, but was traumatised by her ordeal. The offender was described as a black male, in his mid 20s, around 5ft 6in tall, with a bald head, clean shaven, a chubby ‘baby’ face, wearing an off-cream coloured overcoat with big collars and a dark woollen scarf.
DI Nigel Harrison, from Stoney Stanton Road police station, said: “This is being investigated as a serious matter and we are determined to find the man responsible for this attack. We are treating this as an isolated incident but remind people, as always, to be mindful of their personal safety.”
