Motorists and other potential witnesses are being sought after a man tried to sexually assault a woman in a Berkshire town. The woman, in her early 20s, was attacked on the canal bridge on Wexham Road, Slough, on Friday evening.

The attacker grabbed the victim and tried to sexually assault her but fled when she screamed.

Police have described the man as Asian, 30 to 40, 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in, slim, with balding short brown hair.

He also wore glasses and a three-quarter length navy blue padded jacket with a broad silver horizontal stripe across the shoulders.

Pc Gemma Mulcaster, of Thames Valley Police, said: “There were a lot of cars in the area when this happened, as well as a male passer-by whom we would like to speak to as he could be a potential witness.”
