Police in Leeds are appealing for information after a 69-year-old man suffered a broken nose and fractured cheekbone during a robbery on Lidgett Lane.

The incident occurred on Sunday (20/5) around 7.45am, when the victim was walking home from nearby shops and was close to the bus stop and the junction with Allerton Grange Avenue. At this point the suspect approached the victim and punched him in the face before dragging him to nearby bushes where he was further assaulted resulting in a black and swollen left eye, a fractured cheekbone and a broken nose.

After searching the victim and removing his wallet the suspect left the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5ft 10″ to 6ft tall, athletic build, and was wearing black tracksuit bottoms with white stripes on the side and a distinctive black bomber style jacket which had red and black checked sleeves and white Chinese writing on the back.
