Five men who threw bricks and objects at officers during the disturbances in August last year have been jailed for more than 14 years in total.

They all pleaded guilty to committing violent disorder after travelling through parts of the city, causing damage to vehicles, threatening officers and throwing missiles on Tuesday 9 August 2011.

Tyrell Shannon, 20, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to two counts of violent disorder after he was found to be involved in the disturbances on both Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 August. He was sentenced to four years. Callum Nugent

Brothers Callum and Quamai Nugent, 23 and 19, of Warton Avenue in St Ann’s were both jailed for two years eight months; Clive Morris, 22, of Meadow Lane, Chilwell was handed a two year and four month sentence, and Asha McDevitt, 19, of Markham Crescent, Sherwood, was jailed for two years and eight months, after they all admitted their involvement during several hearings earlier this year.
