Bedfordshire Police are keen to hear from people who may have seen the driver of a burgundy coloured Volkswagen Passat claiming to be a taxi driver who sexually assaulted a female on Monday 4 June, 2012.

The incident happened at around 10pm when the 30-year-old victim was waiting for a cab that she had ordered in Oak Road, Luton.

The offender approached the female claiming to be a taxi and she entered the vehicle.

As the offender drove the woman to her home address, he has made sexual advances towards her and then attempted to sexually assault the female before stopping the vehicle near her home address in the Hitchin Road area of Luton. The victim was able to escape from the vehicle and raise the alarm.

Officers are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen the offender who is described as being Asian or Eastern European, of pale complexion, in his mid 20s, of chubby build and clean shaven. He spoke with broken English and was wearing what the victim described as being a ‘one-piece garment’ that covered his whole body.
