A bank manager who resigned the same day he fraudulently set up £750,000 of overdrafts for a business partner has been jailed.

Amanjeet Singh, of Ederoyd Grove in Pudsey, Leeds, illegally overrode the system at HSBC to authorise £150,000 overdrafts for five different businesses in the space of just 14 minutes.

They had previously been rejected because they failed to meet the bank’s lending rules.

Singh, 42, was jailed for two years and six months at Bradford Crown Court on Friday, June 15, after admitting fraud.
