On Wednesday, 27 June at 17:42hrs police were called to reports of a stabbing in Gurney Road near to the junction with Gurney Close E15. Police, the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended and a 16-year-old boy was taken to an east London hospital suffering from multiple stab wounds. His condition is described as stable.

The victim was walking along Gurney Road with three friends when the group was approached by three or four other youths on push bikes. An altercation ensued whereupon the victim received stab wounds to his body after which the three suspects rode off east in Gurney Road on their bikes.

A 15 -year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm – he remains in custody at an east London police station.

Three other suspects are sought. They are described as:

(1) A black youth riding a push bike

(2) A black youth riding a push bike

(3) An Asian youth riding a push bike
