A HULL businessman who claimed more than £100,000 in false housing benefit has been forced to pay most of the money back.

Majeed Mohammed-Redah, 53, filled in a claim form for his wife Abeer Abood to receive the massive pay-out from the state.

The claim for Mrs Abood, 45, stated she was a single mother living with four children. However, Mohammed-Redah was living with her at the home he owned in London.

The fraud came to light when Westminster Council discovered the couple were spending weekends and school holidays at their other home in Cottingham Road, Hull, returning to the London address used for the claim during the week.
