TAKEAWAY manager and drug supplier Mohammed Zafeer has been jailed for five years after storing up to £23,000 of heroin at the kebab house where he worked.

The 40-year-old, who was jailed for four-and-a-half years in September 2006 for dealing cocaine and possessing of heroin, was working at Shah’s Kebab House in Newcastle Road, Middleport, when police raided the business on November 2.

Prosecutor Paul Spratt yesterday told Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court the takeaway owner was away for much of last year and Zafeer was operating the premises at the time of the raid.

Officers found large amounts of heroin and cannabis resin as well as nearly £11,000 in cash.
