A company director who masterminded a £380,000 counterfeit clothing racket has been jailed.

Jugjit Singh Gill manufactured garments under the names of high street brands such as Nike, Adidas, Bench, Diesel and Lacoste at his Leicester factory, Truepride Ltd.

All were fakes and the 42-year-old appeared at Leicester Crown Court to admit a series of counterfeiting offences.

He was jailed for 20 months – a sentence which was welcomed by Leicester City Council’s trading standards team as a warning to other rogue traders.
