The owner of a Scunthorpe rat-infested Indian restaurant has received the second highest fine in North Lincolnshire for breaching food safety regulations.

The director of Raaz Restaurant Ltd, which operated Raaz restaurant on Frodingham Road, has been fined more than £21,000 after admitting to nine charges under the Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006.

Sheik Abdul Hamid, 37, of West Street, Scunthorpe, pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to live rat infestation, but had initially denied eight other charges against him and the business.
