A FAKE asylum seeker who used Scottish taxpayers’ money to fund a suicide bomb attack in Sweden was last night facing a lengthy prison sentence.

Algerian immigrant Nasserdine Menni posed as a French national and as a Kuwaiti. He later falsely claimed asylum and went on to illegally claim benefits and funnel the cash to a radical Islamist.

Glasgow-based Menni was yesterday convicted of transferring money to Taimour Abdulwahab, who blew himself up in Stockholm in December 2010.

A probe involving UK police, the FBI and other agencies uncovered Menni’s links to the 28-year-old Muslim extremist bomber.
