Four armed robbers caught in the act of attacking cash and carry companies in Barking with a array of weapons have today, Friday 20 July, been jailed for a total of 28 years 9 months.

The Flying Squad had been called to Kingsbridge Road, Barking on 21 December 2011 to reports of a robbery in progress and found the suspects armed with semi-automatic hand guns, a machete and two sledge hammers.

Also found were two laundry bags containing stolen cash – £15,000 – from the two large cash and carry firms that had been attacked.

Three men were detained at the scene – Leon Eaton, 31 (2.5.81) of Yorkshire Gardens, Edmonton; Marcus Fairchild, 35 (31.1.77) of Old School Place, Hove, East Sussex; and Nacquain Pryce, 25 (29.9.86) of Angel Close, Edmonton.

A fourth man, Linton Murray, 25 (17.4.87) of Ladysmith Road, Edmonton, ran from the scene and tried to flee in a waiting stolen Vauxhall Zafira before officers stopped him.
