Levi Defreitas

An armed gang who have been jailed for a total of more than 50 years.

Three men and a woman were convicted at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 31 May for aggravated burglary and a range of firearms offences. All were active gang members within Hackney.

They were sentenced on 19 July at the same venue.

Levi Defreitas, 29 [6/7/83], of Gopsall Street, N1, was found guilty of aggravated burglary, 3 count of possessing a prohibited firearm, possession of ammunition without a certificate, witness intimidation and perverting the course of justice.

He was sentenced to 19 years and was given an indeterminate sentence tariff of 9.5 years.

Emmanuel Laurencin, 27 [26/12/84] of Fellows Court E2, was found guilty of aggravated burglary, 3 counts of possessing a prohibited firearm, and possession of ammunition without a certificate. He was sentenced to 13 years imprisonment and was given an indeterminate sentence tariff of 6.5 years.

Shelton Harvey, 24 [15/8/87], formerly of Well Street E9 was convicted of 3 counts of possessing a prohibited firearm, and possession of ammunition without a certificate. He was sentenced to 12 years.

Yasemin Tutar, 26 [11/3/86] of Crondall Court N1 was found guilty of aggravated burglary, 3 counts of possessing a prohibited firearm, and possession of ammunition without a certificate. She was sentenced to 7 years.
