Detectives have stepped up their hunt for a man they want to trace in connection with a gang rape in Preston.

Rezgar Nouri, 27, of no fixed abode and Mohammed Ibrahim, 24, of Aeroville, London, were jailed after being convicted of the gang rape of a woman at a flat in Preston city centre.

They were given an indeterminate sentence which was reduced to jail terms totalling 12 years after they appealed their sentences.

But police continue to hunt for a third man and want to speak to Kurdish national Araz Latif Najmaden, 22, in connection with the attack.

Sergeant Mark Burns from Preston CID, said: “This was a brutal and horrendous ordeal for the victim to go through and despite the convictions we continue to have a team of detectives working to find the third man responsible to ensure she gets justice.

“I would appeal to the public to come forward with information if they know the whereabouts of Araz Latif Najmaden.
