Police in Rochdale are appealing to three women to come forward after they came to a man’s aid when he was assaulted and robbed in the street.
At about 4.15pm on Sunday 22 July 2012, an 18-year-old man was walking on Baron Street from the town centre when he was approached by two men.
The pair demanded he hand over his mobile. When he said he didn’t have one, he was punched in the stomach.
The blow, which could have been with a knuckle-duster, sent the victim crashing to the ground.
The offenders then rifled through the victim’s pockets and left with cash.
Three women passing by then helped the victim up.
The offenders are described as Asian men in their late teens and of slim build.
