Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted in Bristol.

The incident happened at around 11.30pm on Thursday July 19. The victim, a woman in her 30s, was at the junction of Moon Street and Upper York Street when she was knocked to the floor. She was punched and kicked which caused her to lose consciousness. Two men and a woman helped tend to her injuries and help her home after the attack.

The victim is believed to have been assaulted by several black men. She required hospital treatment as a result of the incident and has only recently been able to provide details about the incident.

The assault was reported to police and enquiries continue to identify the people responsible. Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault or knows the people responsible. Detectives are also keen to speak to the good Samaritans who looked after the victim.
