A COVENTRY shopkeeper has been ordered to pay more than £1,000 for a string of food hygiene offences.

Abdul Wali Mohammadi, aged 35, of Daimler Road, Radford, was the proprietor of Aryend Supermarket, in Stoney Stanton Road, Foleshill.

At Coventry Magistrates Court on Wednesday he pleaded guilty to six offences under food hygiene laws, and was fined £500, and told to pay £500 costs and the £15 victim surcharge.

The court heard the premises was closed down by in June last year and January this year after city council inspectors found mice droppings in a storeroom.
