POLICE are hunting three suspected members of a Chinese Triad gang who carried out an horrific assault on a karaoke bar customer.

The China Court Karaoke bar has now had its licence withdrawn over fears of further disorder at the Ladywell Walk venue.

The move came after sickening footage of the ‘vicious, unrelenting and prolonged attack’ was played to the city council’s licensing committee.

The victim, 29, was pummelled with ‘‘bottles, an ice bucket, fists and feet’’ at about 4am on June 30. After a brief pause a second attack followed, in which he was hit with an iron bar – before a bottle was smashed over his head.

Yet police told the committee that staff shook hands and held a door open for the attackers as they left – and no one called an ambulance or cops.

It was only after the wounded victim was dragged outside that the emergency services were alerted by his girlfriend. He suffered scarring and a severe cut to the back of his head – narrowly missing a main artery.
