A baker who dragged a woman into bushes before attempting to rape her has been jailed for three-and-a-half years.

Grzegorz Budach attacked the woman as she walked to a party in Dundee’s Lochee area on 17 September last year.

The High Court in Edinburgh heard the 24-year-old had grabbed the woman in a fireman’s lift and carried her into bushes, where he tried to strip her.

Passing sentence, judge Lord Bannatyne described the offence as “serious and nasty”.
