A heroin addict and dealer has been jailed for three years for selling the drug to another man in a Northampton park.

Obinna Madu was spotted by police officers carrying out a deal on The Racecourse and when they stopped him, they found he was carrying three wraps of heroin.

Northampton Crown Court was told that Madu was an addict who had been convicted of heroin possession on a number of previous occasions, including possession with intent to supply in 2007.

Madu, aged 30, of Byfield Road, St James, Northampton, admitted possession and supply of a Class A drug at Northampton Magistrates Court on July 4 and was sentenced at crown court today.
