A SEX attacker whose finger was broken when his victim bit back – with blood from the wound helping police track him down – has been jailed and placed on the sexual offenders list for 10 years.

Tony Jones grabbed the university student from behind, pinning her to the floor, as she walked in De Montford Way, Canley, on the evening of August 4.

But the 43-year-old, from Eastern Green, got more than he bargained for as his victim – in her 20s – bravely fought back and during a struggle chomped down on his finger.

Fast-track analysis of blood found on her jacket – drawn from the injury – returned a DNA hit on Jones who was arrested by detectives fours days later.
