A gang of crack and heroin dealers who turned the middle of Soho into a £1,000-a-night drugs market were today facing years in jail.
More than 30 were arrested in a pre-Olympics undercover operation to clean up Westminster. Police used Games code-names such as Relay, Cycling, Judo and Sprint to identify suspects. Det Supt Kevin Southworth said: “We found a drug market operating fairly unchecked in the centre of Soho. Dealers were driving a nasty cycle of drug crime and violence.”
Fourteen dealers were being sentenced at Southwark crown court today, while 16 are now in jail after all pleaded guilty to drugs offences.
