Junior Roy Daniel Turney aged 21, was sentenced to four years at Birmingham Crown Court on Tuesday 4 February for possession of Class A drugs.

Officers went to his home in Ravensdale Road, Small Heath in May 2012 to execute a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act. Following a search, 200 wraps of heroin were recovered from his bedroom and Turney was arrested.

Sgt Tony Ashton from the Bordesley Green neighbourhood team, said: “We are very pleased with the sentence of 4 years, and I feel it sends a strong message that drugs will not be tolerated. I would like to thank the local community who have chosen to make a stand against drugs and given us the information that enabled us to secure this conviction and take a substantial quantity of harmful Class A drugs out of circulation.”
