Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was subjected to an attempted robbery as he walked home from work in Clitheroe on Tuesday.

The incident took place at around 8-15 p.m. as the 34-year-old victim was walking home along Faraday Avenue and was approached by three young men.

One of the men demanded his mobile phone, money and cards. The victim refused and one of the men then proceeded to hit him with a pole or stick. The victim shouted for help and all three men then ran away empty- handed.

The main offender is described as black or Asian, aged around 17 or 18 years old and 5ft. 8in. tall with a goatee beard. He was wearing a baseball cap. His accomplices are described as white and around 5ft. 10in. tall.
