A taxi driver who got an underage teenage girl to perform a sex act on him, after driving her to an empty home in Peterborough, has lost an appeal to revoke his licence.

Mohammed Umar Anwar (31) of Sallows Road, Peterborough, appeared before Peterborough Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday) to appeal against Peterborough City Council’s decision to revoke his Hackney driver’s licence.

The council refused to renew Anwar’s licence in September last year, in the interests of public safety, after an incident where Anwar was flagged down by a 15-year-old girl stating she wanted to go to Orton but had no money.

A 20-year-old man has been locked up for 18 months for possession of heroin with intent to supply.

Sohail Ahmed, of Leeds Road, Thornbury, Bradford, was already serving a custodial sentence for dangerous driving, Bradford Crown Court heard.

Yesterday Judge Colin Burn sent him to a young offender institution for a consecutive term after he pleaded guilty to the drugs offence.

A teenage girl was dragged along the road by a car during a robbery in Telford.

The 16-year-old was lured to Southall Road by a man promising to sell her a mobile phone.

A driver pulled up outside a disused petrol station and asked for more than £50 but, when the girl handed over the cash, he sped off with her hand inside the window…..

…..The robbery took place at 6.45pm on Tuesday. Police are hunting an Asian man, aged between 18 and 22, of slim build and with short, shaved, dark hair.

Khuram-RehmaniTwo drug dealers have been given jail sentences totalling more than ten years after police raiding a Bradford house found 1,578 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine hidden in a child’s car seat.

Khuram Rehmani, 22, of Fairfield Road, Manningham, Bradford, was imprisoned for five years and 213 days.

Omar Bostan, 23, of Westfield Road, Heaton, Bradford, was locked up for four and a half years.

Rehmani, a heroin addict, was a “third strike” street drug dealer who began selling class A drugs when he was 16, Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday.

But, far from being a Good Samaritan, he plundered her bank account and pocketed almost 20 times the cost of the fare.

Yesterday, a smirking Shafak Hussain escaped a jail sentence after being convicted of theft.

But magistrates were told he has been shunned by his community, friends and former colleagues, and sacked from his job.

The incident happened last August when Gill Holland, who was returning from a hospital appointment, realised she was short of money so asked Hussain to stop at a machine so she could withdraw the fare.

amir_zeb_khanA 28-year-old man has been jailed for an “appalling and ludicrous” piece of driving that caused a three-car smash at the Valley Road junction with Canal Road in Bradford.

Amir Zeb Khan, who was imprisoned for six years in 2005 for causing the death of a 15-year-old boy by dangerous driving, was yesterday locked up for 19 months and banned from driving for three years.

Khan, of Priestman Street, Manningham, Bradford, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and driving while disqualified.

A DANGEROUS rapist from Poland is on the loose in Britain.

Mariusz Karkum was released by the authorities even though they knew he was a wanted man.

He faces a six-year jail term in his homeland after being convicted for the attack in the capital Warsaw in 2000.

Karkum, 32, is also wanted for robbery, threatening a public official and driving under the influence of drugs.
